Van Briggle Pottery baluster form vase with a matte purple flambe glaze. There are a number of small vases of similar shape in the line drawings, and this is probably shape number 343 with the design name Plain, designed in 1905. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws, or repair. It measures 5 5/8 inches tall and 2 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest. Signed with the firm's double AA box mark, partially legible shape number (43), and 1905. A great shape and beautiful glaze on an early vase from the famous Colorado Springs art pottery.
