Rookwood Pottery tall bottle form vase with squeeze-bag slip decoration of eucalyptus fronds by one of their best mid century ceramics artists, William Hentschel. The design is in dark brown slip on the lower half against a brown gray ground covered with fine blue crystals and a blue rim. It measures about 12 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter at the widest. Marked with the RP die-stamp, XXVII for 1927, shape # 2970 and a con-joined WEH for artist William Hentschel. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws, or repairs. An unusual piece of arts & crafts, modern period Rookwood.
