Rookwood Pottery architectural Faience tile with an Art Nouveau design of a pink lady slipper orchid in high relief. The green, gray and pink glazes are nicely curdled and the design has good contrast. It measures 9 inches tall and 6 inches wide. Framed in period frame stock which measures about 13" x 10". Marked on the back with a die-stamped ""Rookwood and the number 1749Y. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws on the face. There is some concrete on the back which fills in the word faience and some minor roughness. An unusual example of Rookwood's architectural tile production.
