Newcomb College Pottery floral candlestick in their signature matte blue green glazes. It has a nicely carved sprays of flowers with yellow centers repeated 3 times around the base. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws. It measures 7 1/8 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches in diameter at the widest point. Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, JM for the potter Joseph Meyer, AFS for decorator Anna Frances Simpson, and date code HN74 for 1915. A fine example of the quintessential southern art pottery.
