Grueby Pottery & Tile Co tile depicting a galleon ship at sea under sail with gulls and an unusual rope top border. Glazed in their famous curdled matte blue, brown, white, and ochre glazes. It measures 6 inches square and about 1 inch thick. (10.75" square framed) Marked only with glazer’s initials.. It is in great condition with only a little staining to the rope, losses to the back and no other chips or cracks, firing flaws or repairs. The top and bottom edges are glazed for installation. Framed in a custom oak frame. A really nice example from Boston's famous Arts & Crafts Art Pottery.
