Van Briggle Pottery early vase with a matte light green mottled glaze which thins and flows over the relief design. It is number 21 in the shape book, designed in 1901 by Artus Van Briggle, and called "Poppy seed pods". It measures about 3 3/4 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws, or repairs. Marked with the firm's double AA box mark and the date,1906. A great glaze on an early, dated vase from the famous Colorado Springs art pottery.
