Merrimac Pottery tall tapered vase covered in their unique signature feathered semi matte green glaze over red clay.  It measures about 11 1/2 inches tall and 5 1/8 inches in diameter at the widest. Marked with the firm’s die-stamped sturgeon mark. There is a small chip repair at the rim but it’s otherwise in excellent condition with no other chips, cracks, firing flaws, or repairs. Similar green glazes were popularized by Grueby, Hampshire, Owens, Rookwood, and many others. Made in Newburyport Massachusetts around 1900. A beautiful piece of New England Arts & Crafts matte green art pottery.
