Merrimac Pottery rare bulbous vase with a cylindrical neck covered in a purple iridescent crackle glaze and a white rim. Made in Newburyport Massachusetts around 1900. It measures about 7 3/4 inches tall and 6 5/8inches in diameter. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws, or repairs, just some wear and bubbles in the glaze. Unmarked. Exhibited at Craftsman Farms and our gallery in the 1997 Affirmation and Rediscovery show honoring the 100 year anniversary of the Boston Society of Arts and Crafts. A hard to find piece of New England Arts & Crafts art pottery.
